About the role
Foodie Digital is seeking a Senior SEO Content Strategist & Coach to help our community members continue to grow organic traffic from search. This is a full-time senior management role at Foodie Digital.
You will be primarily responsible for strategizing and communicating with Foodie Digital community members about their content strategies, organic traffic, and the technical requirements needed to flourish. You should be comfortable using Zoom and presenting well-research concepts and ideas live on a call.
If you are a detail-oriented, data-driven content strategist and experienced coach with an advanced understanding of SEO, and semantic SEO in particular, you’ll fit right in.
Self-direction and proactivity are highly valued in this remote-first role.
This role also requires the willingness, plus the ability, to creatively collaborate with FD team members, as well as FD community members on a daily basis.
You need to be a clear and effective communicator with the skills to look at aggregate data, and provide simple next steps to individual FD community members as well as the membership community on the whole.
An understanding of structured data and E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness) are required, as are excellent technical project management and time management skills.
The ideal candidate has
- 3-5 years of industry experience supporting high-traffic sites
- 3-5 years of SEO account management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a remote-first environment
Role responsibilities — FD member services
- Provide consistent, timely and positive customer service for FD members
- Facilitate onboarding calls with new FD members
- Facilitate bi-monthly recurring video calls with FD members
- Create and deliver recurring traffic reports for FD members
- Create and deliver recurring Core Web Vitals reports for FD members
Responsibilities — Teaching and coaching
- Teach FD’s unique content strategy framework for food blogs
- Teach FD members how to use GSC and GA4 to their advantage
- Teach FD members about Core Web Vitals, site speed and performance
- Model for FD members how to make data-driven decisions
- Write and deliver monthly newsletter for FD members
- Write and deliver monthly paid newsletter for subscribers
- Serve as the content lead and SEO resource for FD web developers and account managers
- Schedule, plan and lead internal team meetings that share, demonstrate, and communicate best practices and uses cases, as well as emerging trends (and subtractions) in SEO and content strategy
Responsibilities — SEO-specific actions
- Conduct and review SEO audits for new FD members
- Conduct keyword research to support FD members’ content strategies
- Lead category and recipe taxonomy restructure projects
- Oversee and act as editor for FD’s SEO repair process
- Monitor traffic activity in FD member GSC and GA accounts routinely
- Provide SEO input and analysis on tickets submitted by individual FD members
- Plan and oversee pilot projects with FD members (as needed) to test new and emerging observations
Responsibilities — Operations
- Uphold FD’s systems and daily processes
- Discover and action opportunities for reporting efficiencies
- Discover and action internal and external communication efficiencies that help streamline FD individual member education and FD community education
